Features

Built to answer one question well: is this password safe to use? Everything runs in your browser.

Breach check (free)

  • Paste or type a password, press Check.
  • Shows “Seen in X breaches” or “Not found in known breaches”.
  • SHA-1 hashing on your device; only a 5-character prefix is sent (k-anonymity), with padded responses.
  • The field clears itself after each check. Nothing is saved.

Strength meter (free)

A zxcvbn strength score, an estimated crack time and up to four plain-English tips, like “Make it at least 12 characters”.

Breach check result: seen in 2,266,543 breaches, strength very weak, with tips.

Password generator (free)

  • Passphrases of 4 to 8 words from the EFF wordlist, easy to remember.
  • Random passwords of 20 to 64 characters with every character type.
  • Copy button. Your clipboard is cleared 30 seconds later.
  • Uses your computer’s secure random number generator, with no bias.

Check your email (free)

Opens haveibeenpwned.com so you can check your email address there. AEGIS Lite never sees your email.

Password generator showing a five-word passphrase, about 71 bits of entropy, and a note that the clipboard clears in 30 seconds.

Live Guard (Pro)

When you type a new password into a sign-up or change-password form, Live Guard shows a small badge if it’s breached or weak. It ignores login forms.

  • Off by default. Turning it on asks Chrome for permission; turning it off removes that permission.
  • Same k-anonymity check. Nothing stored.
  • The badge lives in a closed shadow DOM, so the website can’t read it.
A sign-up form with an AEGIS Lite badge warning: breached, this password appears in 2,266,543 data breaches.

Bulk check and security score (Pro)

  • Import a CSV export from Chrome or Proton Pass (Bitwarden too).
  • Every password is checked on your computer, then dropped from memory.
  • The report shows site and status only: breached, reused, weak or OK. Never passwords.
  • A score out of 100 and what’s dragging it down.
  • We remind you to delete the CSV afterwards, because it holds your passwords in plain text.

Extra themes (Pro)

NYX Violet, Cyan Ice and Red Alert.

Security score of 69 with a list of sites marked breached, reused or OK.
